"If you think that indie rock preens too much these days, Times New Viking probably sport bruises and scraped knees, and if you think it was all over for Pavement after "Forklift", TNV's lo-fi skree and bounce will certainly shake your love shack." - Pitchfork
Ohio's noise-pop upstarts Times New Viking are easily one of the best of today's lo-fi revival scene, winning fans from the ground-up and praise galore for beautifully their brash, creative, loud lo-fi indie pop punk.
Their recent album, Dancer Enquired, out now on Popfrenzy records, was recorded with the help of help of Adam Smith and Dustin White and represents all that is Times New Viking: it is loud and brash, with mammoth guitars, all throughout nurturing both beauty and authenticity.
Times New Viking are Adam Elliott, Beth Murphy, and Jared Phillips and theyre touring Australia for the first time this August.

BLACK MUSTANG KICK OF AUSTRALIAN TOUR WITH SWEATY NIGHT OF ROCK N ROLL IN BRISBANE

With the release of their second full length album Loaded Gun, Brisbane rockers Black Mustang are gearing up for a rockin’ Australian tour, kicking off with an album launch at Woodland Bar in Brisbane’s music hub Fortitude Valley on July 23.

Loaded Gun, due for release on July 15 on Plus One Records through Shock, is the epitome of a classic Aussie rock record. With the new single “Ain’t Going Down” at radio “Loaded Gun” is
set to encapsulate a more diverse sound while still providing the indie garage rock anthems & dynamic live show through which Black Mustang

A string of tour dates will see Black Mustang traverse the East Coast, adding more tour dates as the months progress. The band is excited to be kicking off the tour with their Brisbane date, starting in traditional style with a hectic night of rock and roll.

Joining them for the Brisbane leg of the album launch will be Byron Bay favourites “The Black Stars”, who
will be also be doing a run of shows with Black Mustang on a tour up and down the East Coast, taking in
Lenox Heads, Lismore, Maitland, Sydney, Melbourne & many more to be confirmed.

Black Mustang don’t need an introduction to rock audiences, they’ve already earned their stripes and
acclaim in the Oz rock genre. Having burst onto the Brisbane live scene in 2004, Black Mustang have
played and toured relentlessly covering all corners of Australia while earning a
reputation as Brisbane’s own garage rock stalwarts. Developing their dynamic live
show they released their debut self-titled 6-track EP “Black Mustang” in 2007 and
quickly followed up with their debut full length album “Between the Devil and the
Deep Blue Sea” in 2008.

Black Mustang went on to open shows for critically acclaimed Australian acts like
The Angels, Lime Spiders, The Stems, Six Ft Hick, Tame Impala, British India, 67
Special and The Celibate Rifles. With a line-up change early 2010, a rejuvenated
Black Mustang having acquired a new guitarist commenced writing the follow up
to “between the devil and the deep blue sea”, as well as joining “The Angels” again
for a run of shows in North Queensland.

Popfrenzy and Happy Endings are extremely excited to announce the release of the new album ‘Goodbye Bread’ by San Francisco’s TY SEGALL on June 24, 2011 PLUS his debut tour of Australia this July!

For the last six years, Ty has made a name for himself cranking out the kind of rowdy ear-splitting, lo-fi garage punk rock that makes the White Stripes sound like something you’d buy for Grandma. At just 23 years old, the prolific wunderkind has already made nine albums including four solo albums since 2008 and three with former band The Epsilons. Plus he’s released with fellow San Fran neo-psych garage mainstays and tour mates Thee Oh Sees and still finds time to be a sometime member of Sic Alps.

"(Secret Birds) fondness for slo-mo psych remains, in all its distorting effects and endless layers, but here Black introduces drum loops that can nod to Suicide. In place of the scope achieved with collaborators, he turns to bleary explorations that move at a crawl and yet have a lot going on. Layers are ever slowing down, speeding up, and shifting."

- Cyclic Defrost

ALSO WITH

THE FEARS

"Falling under the influence of sixties girl group sounds and classic bands
like Velvet Underground, Rolling Stones, 13th Floor Elevators and The Jesus and Mary Chain, Feathers create multit-layered hazy harmonies with simple yet structured magic melodies. They'll take you on a cosmic trip with their dark undertone of fuzzed out surf sounds."

Featuring Cam (Slug Guts), Ash (Good God) and Sam (Secret Birds)

MAGIC MOUNTAIN GOTH PARTY Tonight!!!!

Thank god the Bris City Goths have got somewhere to hang again now that King George Square is finally finished being made anew. I felt so bad watching all twenty of them squeezed onto a desolate staircase where no one could even see them for six months. It’s only fair that we should provide further compensation by throwing a juicy dance party in their dishonour, so thank satan that Magic Mountain’s got this covered tonight. “Goth Juice made from the tears of Robert Smith”.
